Poncione Di Breno (CH) - 1 654 meters

Nr 68

Tenth and last one of todays 10 peaks hike (Camusio-Cima Torrione-Motto Rotondo-Monte Gradiccioli-Monte Pola-Sasso della Gallina-Monte Magno-Monte Magino-Zottone-Poncione di Breno).

The Poncione di Breno was our last peak for today on our special Tamaro-Lema ridge hike. In fact, as it was all about the peak bagging glory today, we somehow managed to do this famous hike which even has his own mentioned path (Nr.748, explained at page 498 in the official guides of the Swiss Alpine Club; vol 5. Guida delle prealpi ticinesi) without standing neither on Monte Tamaro nor on Monte Lema.

This summit is pretty majestic and definitely worth to be conquered. The ridge coming from Zottone from the northern side was probably the best part of the day in terms of challenge, not because of the difficulty but due to the beauty of the path itself which has been build into the rocks.

At the bottom of Poncione di Breno you've got the chance to hike straight up or walk around it. Both paths are obvious and clearly visible.
