Zottone (CH) - 1 568 meters

Nr 67

Ninth one of todays 10 peaks hike (Camusio-Cima Torrione-Motto Rotondo-Monte Gradiccioli-Monte Pola-Sasso della Gallina-Monte Magno-Monte Magino-Zottone-Poncione di Breno).

The Zottone is that typical peak you could easily pass by when walking on top of a ridge (like in this case the Tamaro-Lema hike) without even thinking about that fact that you've just missed something.

Actually, the Zottone when seen from the east side,  is the top of the ridge coming up from the villages of Fescoggia and Vezio and could therefore even be seen as the goal of a whole hike.

On this "Zottone-Ridge"  200 meters below, there is the "Torri" which is also a peak which will be hiked soon..for now it's not on my list.

There is no special path to hike up to it, it's actually enough to walk back up the small hill when you are at 2'709'245, 1'101'145 on the 748 path explained at page 498 in the official guides of the Swiss Alpine Club; vol 5. Guida delle prealpi ticinesi (the famous Tamaro-Lema Traverse).

As almost all the peaks up there (and basically the whole hike) the views are incredible as can be seen from the pics below.
