Pizzo Taneda (CH) - 2 667 meters

Nr 87

The peak is listed at page 208 of the 3rd Book of the CAS Guides about the Ticino-Region (Dal Passo del san Gottardo al Pizzo di Claro), and was the first one of today's honeymoon hike (Pizzo Taneda-Poncione Garioi) we organised for Katrin's mother and her new husband Feitl.

Even my mother decided to come with us today, having said that, on the peaks it was only me, Katrin and Feitl as our mothers decided that the walk to the Cadlimo hut is enough action for the day for them.

It was about time to stand on this summit. In fact, it's one of the most famous ones around here and also the most obvious/impressive one you see when standing down at the Ritom Lake from where we already started for different hikes (lake and summit on picture no.1) in the Piora region.

We walked up path nr.260 (at page 208) as we went straight up to it coming from the two Taneda lakes, nothing really difficult even though there is no path at all; slightly exposed at some point + hands needed sometimes in the most steep areas but all in all a pleasant way to the top. To walk down we chose path 260a which was far more flat and easy.
