Birgitzköpfl (AT) - 1 982 meters

Nr 86

This was the third and last peak of our three summit hike in the northern Stubai Alps of today (Widdersberg-Schneiderspitze-Birgitzköpfl).

It actually isn't a real summit/peak in my eyes, it's not more a little hill coming out of the ridge towards Nockspitze. The locals refer to it as peak though and therefore who am i to change that?

Of course although it's not a typical mountain peak, it still is a significative hike when reached from the bottom of the valley as it's a famous landmark.

To explain this better: please check out the second picture below, Birgitzköpfl is that little "bump" on the left of the Hut in the center of the image.

The peak is not really worth the visit as all the others around it are more interesting/higher... but the hut slightly above definitely is :-)!

Edit: in the following winter we also walked up here with skis from the valley bottom
