Monte Mondini (CH) - 814 meters

Nr 24

This is the 3rd-smallest mountain in the region Ticino, it's listed as such in the official guides of the CAS (Club Alpino Svizzero) at page 501 of the 5th volume (Guida alle prealpi ticinesi).

As we had a few hours of spare time, We decided that this was the perfect place to go to have a little nature getaway! We drove by car to Pura and parked it at the bottom of the mountain at the south-eastern access near the church.

From there it's an easy hike of total 2 hour 15 minutes  (up and down) which can be easily done.

There are 3 different possible accesses to the mountain, a few are are more tricky than others, but none of them has higher Level than T2, I would even say T2- as there aren't any exposed sections at all (but I don't think such a Grade exists :-)).

The views are almost not existing as the top (where there is a big white stone cross) is basically still in the woods.

It's not a spectacular summit at all but as it's listed as an official peak we decided to hike it up, not having time for a longer tour.

I think that this could be an interesting training mountain for trail runners which live in this region.

Level: T2
