Monte Boglia (CH) - 1 516 meters

Nr 6

Probably one of the most beatiful views of the southern Lepontine pre-alps,  the mountain is on the border between Italy and Switzerland with its peak in Swiss territory.

We hike this mountain pretty often, on 3 different trails from which one can choose.

From Lugano there are two going straight up (one coming from south and one coming up from north) all on clear hiking paths. From south it's the route nr. 448  which is explained in the official guides of the CAS (Swiss Alpine Club) at page 350 of the 5th volume (Guida delle prealpi ticinesi) and shown on picture at page 351. The one coming from north (nr. 444, page 347) is steeper and often in the shade. I usually do them both by coming up from the southern side and going back down north in order to get a good loop out of it.

Not only for the views this mountain HAS to be recommended but also for the fact that it's the ideal training Mountain for trail-running, in fact it's one of the peaks that is touched during the famous Scenic Trail race and running the Route linked below will get you in shape in no time (if you are running it, you probably are already in shape btw..).
