Cima Pescia (CH) - 835 meters

Nr 48

We started the ascent from San Grato which is already pretty high up (slightly above the village of Carona) and walked up to the summit following  path 809, explained in the official guides about Ticino of the CAS (Swiss Alpine Club) at page 522 of the 5th volume (Guida alle prealpi ticinesi).

Cima Pescia is the 5th-smallest mountain in Ticino.

To be honest we probably wouldn't have ever thought about hiking this mountain if it wasn't on the official peak list, as there are no views at all and the hike itself isn't challenging. I would say that it's more a place for a nice walk with the dog :-)

I still liked it, as for an easy getaway into nature it was just right for this Sunday afternoon in March. Also, the day before we had already completed 3 other new peaks, therefore it was ok for today.

San Grato Park is a beautiful place for a picknick with friends&family surrounded by a botanic garden with a lot of different plants from all around the world.
